Really a wonderful place to reflect on how blessed we are. I felt the title is paradoxical and also that though these church leaders were imprisoned, they were made free. Enjoy!
I love coming to Liberty Jail! I know it kinda sounds weird. I always learn something new with each visit. ❤
This gave me a lot to think about. I loved visiting a place that is so historically significant to my faith. It made the commitment of the early Saints more obvious to me, and the Sister missionaries taught me some facts I didn’t know.
Well preserved and restored site where the Prophet Joseph Smith was imprisoned for four months in the winter of 1837 to 1838. Three sections of D & C were received here. No heat and mostly candle light in this dungeon like prison.
Wonderful, very knowledgeable missionaries sharing the history of this jail as well as some of the beliefs of the church.
